As well as being a professional musician Emily is also the founder of the ‘Indigenous People’s Cultural support trust’ registered charity no. 1050461 through which for twenty five years she has been able to assist with initiatives for tribal communities in Brazil.

With the unprecedented increase in fires being deliberately lit in the Amazon (at a record high and double that of 2018 ) and the increasing rise in fatal attacks on indigenous communities who live there, more than ever it is so important that we as individuals can embrace the importance  of the Amazon forest within our lives.

Where the forest stands the indigenous people live.

“From Bach to the Amazon” ‘Nothing short of inspirational this is an innovative solo cello concert’.

In this solo cello production Emily invites the audience to join her on a musical journey commencing on this occasion with the Prelude of the D minor suite for unaccompanied cello by JS Bach and then through use of looping technology operated with her feet, Emily recreates her series of multi tracked compositions some of which are from her acclaimed double CD release ‘Out of the Blue & Into the Amazon’. “Fascinating and unique” – The Musician

‘Into the Amazon’ is a twenty–five minute multi tracked cello composition in nine movements composed to accompany her field recordings from the Amazon in Brazil , fauna of the forest  and a Xavante indian community famed for their tradition of singing,  brought back from the times when she  lived and worked with the community.

“Music that is deep, thoughtful and also lifts your spirits” – European Progressive Music

The concerts will be helping raise funds towards the establishment of tree nurseries developed in consultation with indigenous communities in Brazil.
