A Magical Evening with The Pan Liturgy – a beautiful and thought-provoking event marking the time of the Autumn Equinox and on the eve of the Harvest moon in September
This production is preceded with a soundscape, and the performance is fifty minutes long, with no interval.

The production begins and ends with a soundscape, celebrating the natural environment and urging the audience to reflect on signs from nature. The program aims to appeal to the audiences’ sensibilities as to how we respond to the current signs from mother nature as to how our natural environment suffers in the wake of progress. This program is effectively meant to be a wake-up call and a realisation of the impact of environmental change.
Julia Desch has written and narrated the poems, creating a program that is both enlightening and engaging. Emily Burridge has developed the soundscape and cello compositions that respond to the narration. Emily performs on an electric cello and utilises looping pedals to recreate the harmonies and ambience of the score in a live setting.
The story as to how this production developed: Julia approached Emily having heard her perform and invited her to become involved in creating a cello composition to accompany a live performance of her work. Emily further developed the concept by producing a soundscape. Between May and July 2025, she gathered recordings in the natural landscape of Dorset UK at all times of day and night. The listener is taken on an adventure through the landscape and into the woods before the poetry commences.
