Emily Burridge “Mellow cello at the Turning of the World”

This production brings together new and earlier works by Emily in which the compositions stylistically reflect different parts of the world.

‘Emily Burridge lifts the subtle art of cello to new dimensions with her inspirational, moody, soulful and joyous musicianship. This is cello to lift the spirit, harmonise with the emotions and take you on a journey’.

Emily Burridge is a virtuoso cellist, whose deft improvisational and composing skills create sublime music, fluidly crossing genres.

During a performance, integration of looping technology operated with her feet enables her to multitrack rhythms and harmonies .This process has revolutionised her love of playing the cello resulting in solo and duo performance programs of exciting and innovative new music. Her music reflects her love of our natural environment and in the hands of Emily the cello becomes a voice for her personal experiences as she amalgamates melodies, rhythms and sounds from her field recordings.
