The Dorset Rural Music School functions to make music tuition available to a broader spectrum of our society and some proceeds from the concert will go to support this very important work.
The concert commences at 7pm with refreshments served in the interval and ends by 8.30pm.
This is an opportunity to hear the solo performance production “Bach & At the Turning of the World” in a very special sacred environment.
“Bach & At the Turning of the World” features new musical compositions composed and produced during the last four years which are inspired by events in different parts of the world For example “Sisters in the Forest” which was premiered at Cop 26 in Glasgow.
Some compositions are accompanied by an orchestrated backing track, and others feature a dynamic and adventurous approach to composing and performing with the solo cello utilising looping pedals operated with ones feet which enable recording multitracked rhythms and harmonies in a live setting.
The program will also include movements from the second suite for unaccompanied cello by JS Bach in D minor.
The concert commences at 7pm and has an interval when refreshments will be served . The evening will draw to a close at approximately 8.30pm.
